Shootingboard.net

Shootingboard.net has a new look!  I’m using new software to publish the site, so hopefully updates will be easier for me to accomplish in the future…. it’s still a work in progress, though. 

This website is intended to provide some information about my experience with woodworking, woodturning, and my workshop & tools.  Most of this information was put together from posts & threads that I participated in on the WoodNet forums and the NCWoodworker.net forums.   

 Hopefully we’ll have some new woodworking projects to display here again soon!

I picked up this 8″ jointer as part of a group purchase deal.  It replaced my 6″ Jet - a big improvement.  See the Shop Fox 8″ Jointer page for more details. 

I made this hand plane out of purpleheart, with help from Woodguy1975.  This design is based on David Marks’ European Hand Plane episode.  See the Krenov-style hand plane page for more details.

I made this flip-top cabinet to hold three of my heaviest “benchtop” tools.  I basically wanted my two benchtop sanders stored out of the way but easily accessible.  See the Flip-Top Cabinet page for more details.

I used a draw-boring technique to make some trestle bases for Woodguy’s class workbenches, and also for my own workbench project.  For a little “tutorial” about the draw-boring technique, check out this page.
