Rikon Bandsaw

My first band saw was a Craftsman 12″ saw. While this was OK for my purposes for a while, I soon became frustrated by the 6″ depth of cut limitation with this saw. Even while cutting bowl blanks for my midi lathe, the saw barely had the capacity and power to really do the job I wanted it to doI decided to upgrade to a bigger saw, and I did a lot of research on the features and comparisons of the bigger saws. I ruled out the Minimax/Laguna/etc just based on budget, and tried to focus on the tools in the $1000 range. I read a lot of articles & reviews on the subject, and settled on the Rikon 18″ bandsaw (model 10-340).

Awesome bandsaw, man. I have the same one and it kicks some serious booty.
