Shop-Made Handles

Shop-Made Cabinet Handles

Here are some diagrams to show how I made the shop-made drawer pulls for my shop cabinets. I used a technique that is simpler than that described in the American Woodworker article I used for plans: I only used these two router bits, the table saw, and the band saw.

First, I made long handle stock, long enough for about 5-6 handles per board, with some extra length to spare:

First two steps are done on the router table:

Next two rip cuts are done on the table saw, with the blade set at a 15* angle (I have a right-tilt saw), using a push-stick for safety:

Now the shaped handle stock is trimmed to length on the band saw, with the BS blade also set to 15*. Rotate the stock end-for-end for a symmetrical trim.
